Della Phillips was an accomplished musician, who was classically trained in piano and music theory. She shared her love for the arts with family and friends, believing classical music and performance provided not only entertainment, but also intellectual stimulation. Dr. and Mrs. Phillips regularly invited world-class artists to perform at their home on Lake Lucerne in downtown Orlando.  While the family is historically known for innovations in the citrus industry, the contributions to the performing arts that began in their home continue to shape the arts community in Central Florida today.  Dr. Phillips Charities honors the family’s love of the arts through support of many arts organizations such as Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, Garden Theatre, The Orlando Repertory Theatre, Opera Orlando, Orlando Ballet, Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, Orlando Shakes, and United Arts of Central Florida.
