Dr. Phillips Charities

The Dr. Phillips name has been a major economic and philanthropic presence in the Central Florida community for over 100 years.  Dr. Phillips Charities honors the Phillips family legacy through its support of local nonprofit organizations that live up to the family’s motto of “helping others help themselves” in the areas of health, education, arts & culture, children & youth and social services within the Central Florida community, as well as organizations that preserve the free enterprise system and protect private property rights. Dr. Phillips Charities is comprised of Dr. Phillips, Inc. and The Dr. P. Phillips Foundation.  To date, the combined organizations have made grants, pledges and program related investments totaling more than $220 million.

Dr. Phillips, Inc.

As a not-for-profit grant making organization, Dr. Phillips, Inc. supports select nonprofit organizations through funds from its portfolio of investments, which includes commercial real estate.  The 13 organizations supported by Dr. Phillips, Inc. are: 4Roots, AdventHealth Foundation Central Florida, Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida, Central Florida YMCA, Heart of Florida United Way, The Heritage Foundation, Junior Achievement of Central Florida, Orange County Public Schools, Orlando Health, Inc., Osceola County Public Schools, Pacific Legal Foundation, United Arts of Central Florida and University of Central Florida Foundation.

The Dr. P. Phillips Foundation

Established in 1954 to support charitable needs in Central Florida, The Dr. P. Phillips Foundation is a private foundation that was created to provide funding to nonprofit organizations that help correct the origin or root cause of a problem.  Today, The Dr. P. Phillips Foundation supports the same program areas of interest to the Phillips family, but its contributions are not restricted to the specified charitable organizations supported by Dr. Phillips, Inc.
