Terry retired from SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment in 2015, where he served as President of SeaWorld Orlando. His SeaWorld career started in maintenance and water quality for SeaWorld San Antonio in 1988.

Terry was a Founding Board member of LIFT Orlando, a non-profit organization working with residents, business leaders, and community partners toward revitalization of the neighborhoods surrounding Camping World Stadium. In early 2016, he joined the Lift staff and retired as its Chief Operating Officer in Fall 2023. Terry has been active in Florida tourism, working with Visit Florida, the state’s official tourism marketing corporation. He served on the Board of Directors and as the executive director for the Florida Council of Tourism Leaders in 2016, which consists of former Visit Florida Board chairs that support the Visit Florida Board of Directors. Terry currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Visit Orlando which shapes tourism experiences and the future of Orlando’s global appeal.

Terry also served on the Bethune-Cookman University Board of Trustees from 2013 until 2018, where he passionately supported the thousands of students who attend this HBCU. He believes in the mission of BCU “to develop global leaders committed to service, life-long learning and diversity by providing a faith-based environment of academic excellence & transformative experiences.”

In 2016, Terry was honored as a “Father of the Year” by the American Diabetes Association. He has served on several community boards and associations including Florida Citrus Sports, Hubbs-SeaWorld Research Institute, Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission, and Smithsonian National Zoo Board of Advisors in Washington, DC.

In 2019, Terry Co-chaired the “Housing For All Task Force” for Orange County Florida. This Task Force of 38 citizens developed an action plan that received unanimous approval by the Orange County Board of Commissioners.

Terry and his wife Shayla have five adult children and ten grandchildren.
