Katherine A. Martin (“Kate”) is Dr. Phillips Charities’ Chief Grants Officer. She previously served Dr. Phillips Charities as its Grant Manager. A former estate planning and business law attorney, Kate spent seven years prior to joining Dr. Phillips Charities consulting and working in-house with nonprofits across Central Florida including as a senior director of development for UCP of Central Florida and as an instructor and consultant at the Edyth Bush Institute of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership.

Kate brings her experience in strategic planning, board governance, nonprofit management, and relationship building and advocacy, to further serve Dr. Phillips Charities as we continue to touch the lives of thousands in our community. As Chief Grants Officer, Kate works with Dr. Phillips Charities’ Board of Directors to strategically align with organizations in the Central Florida community that meet Dr. Phillips’ mission “to help others help themselves” while honoring the legacy of the Dr. Phillips family. She also reviews grant proposals, administers grants, and helps develop relationships with Central Florida’s nonprofit organizations.

Active in local community organizations, Kate currently serves as the Board Chair for Orlando Family Stage (formerly Orlando Repertory Theatre). She is also a former member of the board of trustees for the Alpha Xi Delta Foundation. Kate’s other community involvements include serving eight years as board member of Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, serving as past vice president of community and past vice president of marketing and communications for the Junior League of Greater Orlando, as well as past vice regent of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution, Fort Christmas Chapter.
