Dr. Phillips Charities awards $6 million Grant to Support Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children
Thursday, December 1, 2022 – When Arnold Palmer lent his name to Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in the 1980’s, he set the tone for the future of pediatric specialty care when he said, “We can do better – and we should do better – for the children in our community.” Orlando Health continues this legacy of caring not only in the Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children but also in its outpatient pediatric care across the region.
Today, through a $6 Million grant from Dr. Phillips Charities, Orlando Health Arnold Palmer and the Orlando Health Foundation are embarking on the largest pediatric project in the hospital’s history as plans are finalized to build a new facility that will revolutionize how pediatric care is delivered to the region.
“We are committed to providing optimal care for all children in the Southeast,” explained Cary D’Ortona, President of Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. “Children with medical complexities require tailored care for their specific conditions, and with this in mind, we plan to institute a new model of care which will elevate health care for all kids who need it.”
“Orlando Health’s efforts to bring a center for collaborative pediatric care to the Arnold Palmer campus will transform the way young patients access the best medical care possible,” said Ken Robinson, President & CEO of Dr. Phillips Charities. “Our century long commitment to making Central Florida a better place to live and work led us to support this worthwhile project.” Dr. Phillips Charities and Orlando Health share a commitment to quality pediatric care in this community and are working together to transform the way patients and their families access medical care, both for complex specialty cases and the everyday needs of kids when faced with an injury or illness.”
“We extend our deepest thanks to Dr. Phillips Charities for helping to bring this vision to life,” said John W. Bozard, President, Orlando Health Foundation. “The children and families of Central Florida deserve to have the best care possible, whether inside our hospital or our outpatient environment. We are proud to partner with Dr. Phillips Charites and other community members as we set our sights on the next phase of our shared history,”
