Dr. Phillips Charities partners with the Arnold Palmer Invitational to offer Eagles for Arnie

Arnold Palmer & Jim Hinson, 2015 Arnold Palmer Invitational

2015 Scores Record Number of Eagles for Charity

Dr. Phillips Charities and its longstanding partnership with Bay Hill is performing up to par.  In 1960, Dr. Phillips’ Chairman, Jim Hinson worked with Howard Phillips to develop land left over from the Phillips family’s citrus grove sale to Granada Groves, a partnership between Minute Maid and Investors Diversified Services.  Bay Hill resulted from turning that remaining Phillips-owned 648 acres in southwest Orange County into the first real estate development in the area.

The power of the golf swing is not unlocked by muscle or by fastest club head speed, but by the precise timing and mechanics of a motion that has to be put together in harmony.  This power is seen in the unique partnership of Dr. Phillips Charities, Mr. Palmer and Bay Hill Golf Club.  Partnering with Mr. Palmer to support Orlando Health is the driver behind Dr. Phillips pledge of $5,000 for each Eagle made during the tournament. “We are so proud that Dr. Phillips Charities has chosen again to support Arnold Palmer Hospital through Eagles for Arnie,” said John Bozard, President of Orlando Health Foundation and Arnold Palmer Medical Center Foundation, “With a total of $622,000 raised in three years, this program is having a major impact on the level of patient-care we provide families across Central Florida.  Dr. Phillips Charities has been a long time partner in our mission and we are grateful for their continued and generous support.”

Hitting a great golf shot is one of the thrills of playing the game. Making a positive impact on our community is a true hole in one!
