Orlando Science Center named finalist for national service honor

Since 1958 Dr. Phillips Charities has supported the Orlando Science Center (OSC).  The latest grant, in 2015,  gifted $750,000 for Zone 1 of OSC's New Kids Town which contains the Entryway/Art of Science and the Orange Grove.  Today, Orlando Science Center is one of 30 finalists for the 2017 National Medal for Museum and Library Service. The National Medal is the nation’s highest honor given to museums and libraries for service to the community.

For 23 years, the award has celebrated institutions that demonstrate extraordinary and innovative approaches to public service and are making a difference for individuals, families and communities.

OSC is honored to be named as one of the top 30 and they are the only institution this year from the State of Florida. We are hoping OSC makes it to the final 10; here is coverage in Orlando Sentinel this morning:
