Dr. Phillips Charities at OCPS: National Philanthropy Day

On National Philanthropy Day, Dr. Phillips Charities’ Ken Robinson and Wendy Oliver were invited to Orange County Public Schools (OCPS) Superintendent’s office.  OCPS offered appreciation for our grant which supports career & technical education programs.  These programs provide high school students hands-on training in career fields. Most programs offer certifications recognized throughout industry so students can earn college credit and achieve employment at sustainable wages.

The center picture is now made into a banner & placed at each high school supported by our grant.

Deborah L. Pedraza, Director of Philanthropic Development for OCPS shared the following from this past Friday, which was National Philanthropy Day:

OCPS is very grateful to Dr. Phillips Charities for their outstanding support of our students' career aspirations. And what better day than National Philanthropy Day to show them our gratitude in person? It was our pleasure to present Dr. Phillips Charities' President Ken Robinson and Director of Grants Wendy Oliver with keepsakes for their offices as tokens of our deep appreciation.  Thanks to Dr. Phillips Charities, countless students will draw from hands-on experiences and earn industry certifications to reach success throughout their lives!

Dr. Phillips Charities gift of one million dollars has been instrumental in the tremendous growth of CTE opportunities for high school students in our district this past year and a half.  Community Partnerships-It’s a beautiful thing!
